Java J2ee Developer

Need a strong Java/J2EE developer to work on a team redeveloping mission-critical research analytics system for a large investment management firm.  This is a comprehensive decision support system that takes in a wide variety of internal/external datafeeds and makes buy/sell recommendations (largely in the equities space).  The candidate must have strong background in architecture design and solution implementation. The role is critical as they move a bulk of critical business functionalities to a new platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform impact analysis, design and development on new initiatives and enhancements
•  Work closely with team members to deliver functionality in a timely manner;
•  Research on new technologies, carry on proof-of-concept effort, and produce findings report
• Take ownership of system integration issues and interact with counterpart from other systems
• Ensure that project standards and methodologies are adhered to for all deliverables
• Maintain and improve quality assurance process

REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong understanding and experience in J2EE related technologies
• Equally strong on alternative technologies, frameworks, and Open Source packages
• Strong Web Services related knowledge
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) programming is a plus
• Knowledge of Tibco BusinessWorks and Oracle Coherence is a plus
• Experience in Financial Services industry is a plus
• Ability to multi-task in a complex and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment as well
• Ability to work from both high level and detailed requirements
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to assess relevant facts, identify alternative approaches, and supply recommended solutions
• Helpful and positive attitude
